This what Erika Knight has to say about Laxtons.

It’s rare to find passion in business! Even rarer to find a devotion and integrity that inspires my woolly heart in this often cynical ‘credit crunch’ culture and most especially within the turbulent textile industry. But it is there in abundance  at Laxtons mill! It is evident in every fleece, fibre and fabric, and I am so excited to announce that I am to be collaborating with James and Alan ,  on an exclusive new venture …

Emma Bradbury

DAKS Catwalk

One of the designers, Emma Bradbury, who was one of the Liberty’s/Royal Collage Of Art competition winners and whom we sponsor also won a competition run by Daks. After this Daks commissioned Emma to come up with a few designs for their catwalk show for London Fashion Week in Feb 2011. Daks were very keen to use 100% British made products and so we agreed to make a bespoke yarn for them which Emma would use in her designs. The products will be incorporated in the catwalk show on Sat 19th February.

Rowan Yarns

Liberty’s/Royal College Of Art

We worked in conjunction with one our customers Rowan Yarns to Sponsor a competition with the Royal College Of Arts with the remit to design either Fashion or Furnishings from yarn which was 100% Genuine British. The winning entries were placed in the window at Liberty’s Of London during Wool Week in October 2010. The designers had to produce the finished products with a 50’s theme as Carnaby Street was celebrating its 60th Birthday at the time. The picture at the top of the page is of the finalists.
